About Me

I've lived all over the place which has influenced my frame of reference. I'm definitely a thinker that appreciates conversation and can be outspoken but my orientation is to listen and am generally an ambivert. I try to be inclusive, I was always the kid inviting others into the group.

I'm clean and quiet. I love a good conversation and where it takes me. I've been described more than a few times as "Lassiter, you're the most laid back person I've ever met."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I signed up in 2011 but never actually committed and surfed couches before, so now is the time! Looking to meet people!

Interests

I love cooking. I'll cook for anyone at any time. I can also make a mean Texas Margarita. Stouts and Porters are a love language to me. I have a general ritual to see a movie every Saturday morning.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I will listen to all music but tend to listen to more Indie Hip-Hop/Rap, House (particularly old school Chicago House), and House mixins from other genres. Right now, I love Rusangano Family (Irish Hip-Hop, https://open.spotify.com/track/2MRDZ6jKSnfztr8rya1InV).

Movies: I'm not a film critic but I know my stuff coming from a media production background. I spend my time watching non-fiction dramatizations or documentaries. However, I'll watch Law and Order: SVU or Anime for days.

Books: I enjoy the Bible, it means a lot. Outside of that, most of my reading is academic or technical such as documentation or books like The Technological Society by Jacques Ellul.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It was January 1, 2000, as a 9-year-old kid in Cebu City, Philippines, I managed to get myself on a top local radio station and get interviewed about things I liked ranging from Sushi to my opinion on the new minimum.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've worked in non-profits, radio, churches, and in marketing and advertising. I can speak/teach on a lot of things surrounding those industries or markets. I love sharing great meals and can teach you tips/tricks to make meals great using spices or what I've learned about the chemistry of cooking.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge, wisdom and expertise. I'll tell you all I know about Chicago if you're planning on going there.

Countries I’ve Visited
