About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've traveled quite a bit, and received lots of love from many strangers who've opened their homes and lives to me. Now I'm settled and would like to give back.

ABOUT ME

I spent my first 13 years in relative stability in the suburbs of DC, my next 20 or so in nearly constant flux, my last few years finally with some stability! I've found a home in Philadelphia, the city that loved me back.

PHILOSOPHY

I have dedicated my life to alleviating suffering in my fellow human beings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love hosting. My travels have really informed what it means to be a good guest/host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a member for a while, but I'm still relatively new to the surfing world, in terms of number of experiences. I'm looking forward to formalizing what I've already been doing for about 8 years: being a home base for travelers in my community (i.e. extended circle of friends).

Interests

Bikes, reading, rescuing pit-bulls, home remodeling projects, learning from kids, bikes, and also bicycles.

Music, Movies, and Books

Dr. Strangelove, Cannibal Ox, Moby Dick, Khruangbin, GoT (books!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen hundreds of sunrises/sunsets over bodies of water, mostly over the Patapsco River in Baltimore, Maryland.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know welding, woodworking/boatbuilding, DIY house repair, how to learn languages without books, bike mechanics/building (gas brazing), and I have a keen eye for architecture, real estate, and city planning issues.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like cooking, and I've happily left my hosts with key lime pies. I can also tune up your bikes, or help you with a small project around the house.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Ecuador, Egypt, England, Germany, Greece, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Montserrat, Netherlands, Saint Lucia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Syrian Arab Republic, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Vatican City State, Virgin Islands, British, Virgin Islands, U.S.
