to finish my first book!

ABOUT ME

after i graduated university, i expatriated to england in 2008. i lived in london for almost six months, and it was the best and worst time of my life. i've been back in the states for four years, and i'm looking most forward to my upcoming european jaunt.

i'm nearly finished with my first book (which covers my couchsurfing experiences in 2007), and i'm returning to europe this autumn to put the finishing touches on it.

as a professional appreciator, i'm just trying to have a good time. real talk.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i've been surfing couches since 2007, and i've also hosted some wild and wonderful travelers. i look forward to hosting again!

there is no doubt in my mind that couchsurfing is the greatest travel revolution since the advent of the airplane.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

when i was 21, i went to europe by myself for four weeks with nothing but a carry-on compliant backpack and a list of couchsurfers (no cell phone, no computer, no worries). i surfed in london, prague, cairo, paris, amsterdam and edinburgh, and i've not been quite the same since.

since that initial couchsurfing experience, i've surfed in vancouver, montreal, chicago, san francisco, asheville, new orleans and cleveland (when i qualified for the 2012-13 jeopardy! contestant pool). during my time in nashville, i was a live-in nanny with a couchsurfing soul sister who found me through a CS community post!

i've hosted a handful of times, and i look forward to the opportunity in the future.

i saw the sun set behind the great pyramids at giza whilst smoking hasheesh on the rooftop of a camel stable.

i saw the ever-elusive french house duo daft punk at a music festival in las vegas surrounded by my best friends under the desert sky: we are human after all, and music sounds better with you.
