To do it differently.
ABOUT ME
Last year I moved from Oxford to Leeds. More recently I moved from Leeds to a tiny hamlet outside of Tadcaster. I literally live in the middle of nowhere, so be prepared for that!!
I signed up to couch surfing originally because I lived in a nice city (Oxford UK), but I knew it was ridiculously expensive to stay there and I had a spare couch. I thought 'Share the love' and just invite people to stay, and at the same time meet loads of people from different walks of life. Since then, Couch surfing has been an amazing way of seeing the different side of the cities I've visited, and meeting people who I would never normally bump into! A good number of years ago I set myself a challenge to hitch-hike and couch surf from Vancover to Panama. It went well. Met some pretty amazing people on couch surfing along the way.
I think it's safe to say I'm a stress-free, genuine guy who's a little bit bored of the ordinary. I was studying Psychology, then I was working for the Youth Justice + Police in Oxfordshire, then as a psychologist for an education charity, and now in the National Health Service. I spent a fair bit of time researching behaviour and happiness, and I am happy to talk about that and listen to any other subject. I'm gay, I like meeting new people and I have a spiritual side too. Simples. :)
P.s. I have blond hair, not black hair (as my picture seems to give the impression of). In fact, I'm losing my hair by the day, so by the time I meet you I might not have any hair at all!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
There is a tad too much selfish-ness and fear about. Maybe this will help get rid of a bit of that. I'm the type of person who wishes you could leave your door unlocked like they did in the old days.
Interests
I like reading and writing. I like jogging and swimming. I like relaxing on a beach or in a sauna. Oddly enough, I am growing to like anything which takes my mind off real life stress!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to write a blog for my travels (www.travelpod.com/members/johnnylatham) and at the time of writing I didnt see anything 'extra-ordinary' going on around me. Now, reading back, every single part of my life has been an adventure- starting from small seemingly insignificant conversations in coffee shops to walking across shark infested waters. It's all starting to blow my mind.
