ABOUT ME
(I first wrote this many years ago. And I do still feel identified with it. Of course there are aspects in which I want to believe I “grew”, but in essence is pretty much the same - or I am just lazy to change it).
Sometimes shy, often too outgoing, but a reliable guy in both cases.
Donkey is my favourite animal. So noble.
I like talking very seriously about non serious topics. I like people whom I can have a thoughtful and stupid conversation at the same time.
Usually cheerful, optimistic, curious and active.
Maybe I'm not completely objective talking about myself.
Struggling for an unbaised point of view, I would say I really like pizza.
I think sleeping out in the open you get more stars than in any hotel.
("About me" will be developed in more detail through the following sections!)
PHILOSOPHY
Hakuna Matata & Nietzsche
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sharing stories, thoughts, love and adventures.
For me, meeting the locals is the small difference between being a traveller and a tourist, a small difference that makes all the difference.
So instead of being alone in a hotel, I prefer meeting people and make it become a good memory.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Amazing! I was first hosted in Vietnam, and hang around with two CSers there. It đidn`t feel as if they were my hosts or guides, but if we were old friends. Such a good experience to begin with.
I have more stories of hosts that made an otherwise boring place the best experience on a trip. It's not where you are, it's who you are with (Cheap self-help book philosophy, I know, but I think it's true!) I believe sometimes places are not boring or interesting themselves, but you make them so.
Interests
Living strange or funny adventures (or moments where people are really, really kind and you feel filled with faith in humankind).
Art as a way of doing something useful with repressed desires. Poetry, literature, drama and cinema above all. So reading or watching movies that really make me think, or at least make me laugh (with wine even better). Urban and traditional culture, like graffiti, hip hop, contemporary art, folklore, etc.
My interests keep growing and accumulating with time. For example, a friend is now introducing me to jazz, which I hated before, but I am very inconsistent with my dislikes - I always end up liking them.
I also like the typical things everybody in CS likes (other cultures, conversation, The Unbearable Ligthness of Being, donkeys...)
But apart from that I also enjoy meeting new and interesting people whom I can have a good time with. (That's truly not copy-pasted.)

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of them, it's faster to just say I don't like flamenco nor romantic novels/films. Science fiction neither.*
I really like Andrew Jackson Jihad, though. And Vincent Gallo. And Kitano, Bojack Horseman...
Japanese, Chinese and Western contemporary literature (either poetry, novels or drama).
2017 Update: Now I'm starting to like flamenco music. But sci-fi or romance still not my thing.
Existentialism, bubbles, popcorn, ice cream, wine, randomness, movie> Perfect plan if not going out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-I've survived till now.
-I performed along with some friends the improvised wedding of a German young couple who were my CS guests in my rooftop: lots of wine, cake, speeches, and even a random musician that we met on the street came to play music. Unforgettable.
-In Vietnam I rented a kayak 4 days to explore a bay, but the first day I was so tired that I stuck myself to some kayaks in the back of a boat. Then the crew saw me and invited me to go onboard. I spent 2 days with them, and one of them invited me to his village and to live with his family.
It has been one of the most beautiful experiences in my life.
-When I arrived in China to study, I had no accommodation , no reservation, and I was lost. I met a girl and her cousin on the street, and they let me stay a couple of days in his place until I found accommodation.
I've done more "amazing" things, but they are amazingly embarrassing to myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn mostly anything.
I don`t know if I can teach anything. Maybe how to achieve Nirvana or some basics about Schopenhauer. But just that.
Share beers (or red wine), experiences, adventures, and points of view about utilitarism and existentialism.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Randomness, humour, chocolate, energy, a shoulder to cry, a shoe to chew and a homie to home.
And psychoanalysis, of course.
