About Me
Hallo!
Wie geht es Ihnen? Danke fürs Lesen mein Profil :)
Zur Einführung; ich heiße Lauchlan Craig, und ich bin ein Grafikdesigner und Denker aus Heathmont, Australien. Mein Deutsch ist noch begrenzt, but I am trying to learn a little more each day. I hope you don’t mind if I switch back to English for now!
I am 26 years old, and am on my way to Germany in 2017 - with plans to hopefully relocate there permanently to work or study. I would love to meet you if you would like to show me around and help point me in the right direction.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I currently don't know a lot of people in Germany, but love meeting new lifelong friends and am open to anything. I would really like to learn from locals, experience the German culture properly with people who know it best - you!

Music, Movies, and Books
Very tough, I used to listen to lots of heavy metal / death metal growing up and have since calmed down slightly. Eclectic tastes, a lot of hip hop but a huge fan of 80's and 90's.
Movies is a little easier - my favourite movie in the world is Grease (I am serious). I am open to many categories and some of the standouts would be The Departed, The Pianist, Amelie, Shutter Island and Pulp Fiction.
I study a lot of Design books. Sagmeister, Erik Spiekermann and Adrian Shaughnessy being some of my favourite designers / authors.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived and worked independently for almost 10 years now, and have done a lot of great things for myself. This has allowed me to work in some pretty cool jobs, right across Australia at some top studios. I think though, the most amazing thing I have done lately would be booking a one way ticket to Frankfurt :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I am happy to teach you as much English as you can possibly absorb, leaving you with a well rounded vernacular and slang words should you want to use them.
I play the Double Bass and Piano, and can try my luck at teaching you how to read music as well as some of the basics should you be interested.
Learn: I would absolutely love to learn more Deutsch, and how to speak it in particular. I am reading a lot and using Duolingo to practise, but would much prefer to use it on a daily basis.
Share: I want to share experiences with you, cook dinner for you, and most of all be a new friend to you. I wouldn't mind coming along to work, events, shopping or helping with day to day things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As I eluded to, I am looking to share some great moments with you. I am a good cook, though Australian food is pretty much built around dishes from other cultures (which is a great thing). I cook a lot of pasta, casseroles, barbecues as well as pastry dishes - so take your pick!
