About Me

I grew up in a timbered farmhouse just next to the forrest edge in the countryside in Denmark. I embrace opportunities in life with open arms and I enjoy both bursting around all day and sitting in reading, thinking, chatting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a portal to meet and talk to people living in the cities you visit on travels. It is a wonderful openhearted way of welcoming strangers in your home in the hope of being enriched by their presence.

Interests

I find interest in the little things, the gigantic things -- everything. I listen to birdcalls in gardens, sense the texture of blades of grass. I study the molecular mechanisms underlying human biology, read about quantum mechanics and astronomical explorations and discoveries. The sensuousness of life is all.

When I am not thinking or gardening you find me on the water fishing or waterskiing (I'm about to learn windsurfing), threading pedals on my bicycle, hiking in foreign or known landscapes. I climb walls and boulder with two of my buddies as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

The movies and books I love the most is the ones with substance. Sometimes I watch a ridiculous movie without much substance ---I watch it, but I will never love it. In books I seek beautifully written stories.
I do not choose favorites. At festivals you find me at concerts exploring new bands and searching for someone to surprise me musically. Nowadays a lot of music sound the same. I find that boring and listen to music with edges.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to France after high school without the ability to speak french. I only had the ambition to learn. A mother with her son housed me during my stay in Paris where I attended french classes and eventually learned quite a lot. It was a crazy time in the beginning living with people who you could not understand and neither be understood. After a month we talked at the dinner table, played games etc. Amazing for me.
