About Me

CURRENT MISSION

CARPE DIEM! Explore and experience as much as I can!

ABOUT ME

I'm an optimistic adventure-seeker with a very unique & often contagious laugh. I'm 25 years young and looking to experience as much as I can in life! I'm always open to try new things and love to explore! I have a strong sense of independence, but am always looking to meet new people and make new friends!

I graduated from UCLA in 2012 with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Film. I've seen some of the world, but am always itching to see more! There are always more places to see and go!

PHILOSOPHY

"The world is but a canvas to the imagination." - Henry David Thoreau

"Do one thing that scares you everyday." - Eleanor Roosevelt

"Take chances! Make mistakes! Get messy!" - Ms. Frizzle (Magic School Bus)

"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You." - Dr. Seuss

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to start with some surfing...followed by some hosting when I'm back home! Then, I'd love to meet people at CS gatherings and expand my social circle globally!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie to CouchSurfing, but am absolutely in LOVE with the concept. I can't wait to get more involved in the community! Everyone, please share all your knowledge with me, I love to learn!

Interests

I recently left my job in film publicity to travel for a bit! Film is a lifelong passion of mine, so I'm absolutely thrilled to be in the industry! Beyond film, I'm just a lover of all things entertainment-related. So, if you love anything in film, TV, music, I'm sure we'll get along!

(SOMEWHAT) BIZARRE LIKES OF MINE INCLUDE:

- A CRAZY LOVE OF ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING RELATED TO SUPERPOWERS

If I was granted one wish from a genie, then I would wish for superpowers. I've even come up with the PERFECT superpower, but I'll only share that with you if you ask....

- AN (ALMOST) OBSESSION WITH CUTE ANIMALS

I'll admit it, I can spend hours on YouTube or Pinterest just looking at adorable animal videos or pictures. I have an extra soft spot for dogs and hedgehogs- both of which I hope to one day have as pets. I'm that friend who will drop everything when she notices a dog on the street.

- THINGS RELATED TO DISNEY/PIXAR

Disneyland is seriously one of my favorite places to go. If I was a wealthier person, I'm pretty sure I would lose a lot of money at the Disney store. There's just such a magic about the park and their films. They craft stories in such an incredible way, the characters (especially in their animated films) have such a complexity, that they're just unrivaled in quality.

- OF COURSE, TRAVEL!
I would like to spend every moment that I can exploring the world and meeting new people!

  • pets

  • dancing
  • dining
  • marathon

Music, Movies, and Books

FILM

FILM GENRE:
I can do everything except horror films. I have an extra fondness for action-adventure-comedies, animated films, and anything relating to superpowers! I have a pretty broad selection of favorite films as I've definitely learned to appreciate a broader spectrum of films through the film classes I've taken in college!

FAVORITE FILMS:
Up (& other Disney/Pixar films), Avengers & other Marvel Cinematic Universe films especially the Captain America films, The Man from UNCLE, Kingsman, 500 Days of Summer, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Crazy Stupid Love, Singin' in the Rain, Casablanca, The Iron Giant, Lord of the Rings, Amelie, What's Your Number, Love Actually, My Neighbor Totoro (& other Hayao Miyazaki films), Anastasia, Star Trek, Arthur Christmas, Wasteland (a documentary)

TV

TV GENRE:
I definitely skew towards comedies for the most part, but also shows related to superpowers (ha).

FAVORITE TV SHOWS:
Game of Thrones, Friends, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn 99, The Flash, Recess, SNL, The Voice, Justice League, X-Men Evolution

MUSIC

MUSIC GENRE:
I lean a bit towards indie, pop-rock, but I'm a fan of pretty much everything.... except hard country and screamo rock. Often a song with a great beat or amazing lyrics will win me over.

FAVORITE MUSIC ARTISTS:
Adele, Coldplay, One Republic, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Maroon 5, Sara Bareilles, Katy Perry

BOOKS

BOOK GENRE:
I typically go for fantasy and fiction but am just starting to get into non-fiction. Always open to suggestions!

FAVORITE BOOKS:
Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Dr. Seuss, Sideways Stories from Wayside School Series

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

UCLA DANCE MARATHON

Every year, my college throws a Dance Marathon to support the fight against pediatric AIDS.

You may ask, 'WHAT IS A DANCE MARATHON?"

Well, just as a marathon is 26 miles, a DANCE marathon is 26 hours.. of DANCING! I had the privilege and willpower to stay on my feet for 26 hours straight twice during my college career.

I never thought I could fall asleep standing until it was actually happening to me. Even though my feet literally wanted to kill me for doing it, I have absolutely no regrets from my marathoning times. It was one of my most memorable college experiences and just one the BEST experiences I've ever had in my life. It doesn't seem like that crazy of a goal, but it feels like the biggest accomplishment of your life when you're done.
