About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To continue to explore this big wide world and meeting fantastic people

ABOUT ME

PLEASE IGNORE MY LAST LOGIN DETAILS, I'M BASED IN EDINBURGH, NOT YORKSHIRE!!! I have just spent 2 years travelling around Australia and New Zealand (with a little work thrown in!!) - absolutely loved it! I've always had the travel bug and have already seen alot of Europe - I adore Italy, good food, wine, beautiful country. I liked Hungary too, the Gellert thermal baths in Budapest- fabulous! I could go on and on about what I've seen and been amazed by on my travels but I'll save that for another day - don't think there's the space on here plus you'd probably be bored to tears!! There's still so much more of this world that I want to see - I'm starting to panic that I haven't got enough time to see everything I want! Would love to go back to Oz and see the West Coast and really want to see Canada. Infact I want to see every country in the world if possible! My more immediate plan is to do more weekend trips closer to home - want to explore Scotland and also more of Europe. Once I have the funds, I'll go further afield again. I just want to continue to travel, exploring different places and cultures and meet interesting people- one of the best things to come out of the last 2 years was the wonderful people I met:) I am a fun, bubbly, some might say slightly crazy (but in a good way!) character and I'm very happy go lucky. Just for the record, laughter is my middle name - life's too short not too:)

PHILOSOPHY

Life is to be lived - there's a big wide world out there - go see it and laugh all the way

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately I can't offer a couch at present but I'm definitely up for meeting fellow couch surfers for a coffee and a natter:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first couch experience through friends when I was in Sydney who were already registered. My host Matt was kind enough to let me stay even though I wasn't an official couchsurfer at the time! I couldn't believe what a fantastic idea it was and I wish I'd done it sooner. When I have my own couch it will definitely be on offer - in the meantime I want to continue meeting interesting individuals.

Interests

Travel - everywhere!, reading - travel books (obviously!) thrillers, autobiographies, writing (I'm an aspiring author!), languages, good conversation and company, dancing, countryside, beach, scenic walks, Italian food and red wine

Music, Movies, and Books

Constantly reading, no particular authors but I do like a good thriller, one that stands out is Fear of the Dog by Neil Tidmarsh, I couldn't put it down. I found The Interpretation of Murder by Jed Rubenfeld was fantastic read too. One of best movies I've seen is Shawshank Redemption and in more recent times was the Pursuit of Happyness - got me thinking. I have a very eclectic taste in music - anything from Michael Jackson (RIP) to the Black Eyed Peas (they were awesome in concert!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Franz Josef Glacier - amazing!
Travelling to the other side of the world to NZ and Oz after wanting to do it for so long!
Watching fireworks on Sydney Harbour Bridge - awesome!
Touring Europe for a month on the interrail - good times!
Watching an amazing sunset in the Town of 1770
Exploring Pompeii
Wine tasting in Waiheke, NZ

Teach, Learn, Share

A smile says a thousand words - you may not speak the language but a smile is universally understood and doesn't cost a thing.
