About Me

Newly remarried, I am a couch surfing veteran who lost access to her original account. It's been 6 years since I've surfed and now I am ready to open up my home to pay it forward. Also, I have a 21 year old son who often travels for work--he owns his own business---and may one day need a couch! My new husband isn't much for intruding on people's homes but we are certainly hospitable enough (and we love people) to host on occasion for the surfing adventurist. We also travel very often for our IT Business, but if we are around we would love to welcome you to our modest city!

We have a two story townhouse with a lower level bedroom and full bath. It serves as an office most days but is home to a twin size lowered captains bed complete with soft sheets, pillows, and a black cat named Smokey. She doesn't talk much but she does like to hijack the guest bed.

Whatever you find in the pantry and fridge, you are welcome to enjoy with us. I only ask that you leave my home in the condition you found it. The kitchen is fully equipped for a cooking extravaganza if that is your thing.

We have wifi internet, an Apple Tv, and basic cable for you to enjoy in the living room that houses a large tv with surround sound. Feel free to lounge on the recliner couch, loveseat, or the party recliner and crank the tunes up loud!

We can easily accommodate up to 2, possibly 3 guests, at a time for short 2-3 day stays. Hanging out, free rides, and getting to scratch the Chorkie dog's belly are also available during your surfing adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couch surfing allowed me to take my son on our greatest adventure---almost a month in California to check out colleges. It was the biggest blessing ever as we were on a very slim budget and had plans to spend a few days with Mickey. Because of the generous people that hosted us, our trip lasted weeks longer than expected. It's those kinds of blessings that just have to be repaid and that is the plan!

Interests

I am a laughter yoga leader, community activist, change-maker, and a chic with a mission! My full time commitment is to family, home, and then to service. My mission is to share laughter, play, and meditation with those who need a little more health and happiness in this deadly serious world.

But sometimes I join my hubby and help out in the world of Information Technology, from Point of Sale upgrades to Cable installation and Network infrastructure. We also host and design websites. In my spare time, I take lessons and perform locally with a belly dance troupe---hubby is a drummer. I'm also a costume designer, art creator/enthusiast, motorcycle rider, and graphics designer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I just can't do it! I cannot single out my "favorites" because like me, they are all influential and therefore subject to change without notice!

I listen to a lot of contemporary Christian music, but you will get NO preaching here. The study of religions fascinate me. I also play a lot of world music---anything that lends itself to hip drops and shimmys!

Favorite Books---all of them! I have a huge collection of this centuries great metaphysical/spiritual/esoteric/holistic writings with a sprinkle of personal growth literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just One??? Hmmmm....

I survived liver failure and cheated death in my 30s! I painted a bedroom full of tessellation's in Escher fashion in my 20s. I gave birth to an awesome kiddo and raised him alone in my teens! I've traveled to Maui, Jamaica, and Mexico, plus much of the Eastern U.S. I have laughed with 100 of the closest strangers from all over the world for 3 Days Straight! I have zip lined through a jungle, swam with giant turtles, fished for piranhas, and taught myself to sew.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since my practice is laughter and laughter is a universal language, let's start there. I can't teach you anything you don't already know. BUT I can help you remember how to be like a little child---happy, healthy, playful, light-hearted and stress-free--simply by reconnecting you with fits of laughter that could wet your jeans. I can have you laughing so hard you might think you can't breathe and then I will remind you exactly how to do just that. We will reinvigorate you and your energy with conscious abdominal breathing and then we will laugh again (for absolutely no reason other than how good it feels!).

I can teach you Gibberish--quite possibly the only non-language language we humans really need! I can also teach you some cabaret and ATS belly dance moves.

And if you are up for it, I can drag you to visit all my happy places in the big city of San Angelo--the touristy sites and the not to be missed holes in the walls.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can only share what I have with me, but graciously I will do just that! I can listen, talk, dance, or hide depending on my environment and the mood, but I can also be quite entertaining! A blessing just is not a blessing until it is shared.
