About Me
I'm currently a doctoral student working on a speculative fiction novel set from the 2020s the 2070s, which I'm describing as ameliorative climate fiction, where I can sketch out the possibilities of living in the kind of world I dream about alot!
Otherwise, I'm putting together an album of music I've been creating over the past 10 years, tentative title medicine ÷ chest. I enjoy being in nature, beautiful music and eating great food :-)
For many years now I've been exploring mistranslations across cultural/social/informational boundaries, how living in the worlds we were brought up seeing through whilst the effects of our actions ripple physically across one earth causes much of the suffering we see, and about how to bridge those boundaries.
Partly in the pursuit of such ideas, I spent time in Latin America accompanying social movements, mostly in culturally-affirmative education/ arts/community media work. As well as in India and China, nosing out similar things. I returned to Mexico to work in ecological construction. And then back to the UK, working on different things, conflict resolution, development, agricultural and decent work policy, systems change, popular education, arts etc. I worked as a care assistant for some of that time, as well as randomly studied medicine for a bit...
