About Me
Hi! My name is Laura, I'm 24 and I'm from Barcelona, Spain. I studied Journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and I'm currently living near Baltimore, MD, in the US. I'm working as an AuPair and I'm living with an American family.
I'm very open-minded and respectful, I don't smoke and I love animals! I always respect other people's personal space, but I'm always there for anyone who needs me.
Unfortunately, I'm not living in my own place, so at the moment I'm not able to host anyone. But when I go back to Barcelona I'll be more than willing to do so!
Living here has been an amazing experience so far!
PLEASE: if you decide to host me, leave a reference! It really helps🌸.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I think it gives great opportunities to travel the world and know different countries without spending too much money. I believe with Couchsurfing you get to learn a lot about local cultures by meeting people all around the world, which is always an enriching experience.
So far all the hosts I've met have been awesome; I've stayed with them for short but intense periods of time, they've opened their homes and lifes to me and that's something I'll never forget. They know they will always be welcome at my home! And I truly hope to keep in touch with them😊.
Interests
I love outdoor activities, hiking and nature. I have a lot of energy, so doing sports is a must to me. I played basketball for nine years and now I just work out at the gym and go hiking when the weather is good. I'd like to start climbing and try yoga soon.
I absolutely love good food and I think I'm quite a good cook, specially when it comes to Spanish food!
I've travelled through Europe a lot, and now that I'm living in the US, I have the chance to discover this HUGE country! After this I'd like to go to Japan, China, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland... Pretty much all the places I can☺.
I'm also very concerned about the climate crisis. Saving the planet is in our own hands! We should reconsider the way we live and consume and try to adopt a more sustainable way of life. Reducing meat consumption (or becoming vegan!), using public transportation, buying second hand clothes and furniture and stop using single use plastic are easy steps to start taking care of the planet🌎.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like pretty much any type of music, books and movies as long as they're good. But if I had to choose...
• A song: La dansa del vestit - Txarango (Catalan song)
• A book: Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
• A movie: Life is Beautiful - Roberto Benigni
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to Hawaii. I have no words to explain how beautiful it is! Life-changing🌺
Teach, Learn, Share
I come from Catalonia, a region of Spain. We have a tradition there called "castells", which is literally translated as "castles" but it's about making human towers. If you are curious and want to learn a little bit about it, just type "Catalonia's human tower power - BBC News" in the YouTube search bar. I hope you enjoy!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer an intercultural exchange, good vibes, good food, good conversation (I hope so!) and I can assure that I'm just a normal person who only wants to travel😃
