About Me
Hello! My name is Laura. Most of my childhood was spent moving to different places and I believe this is what seeded my love for traveling. I have a thirst to take in as much of the world as possible, and meet new people along the way! I'm currently a college student at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana but I'm taking a semester to study abroad in Madrid, Spain. I am so grateful for the opportunity to study abroad because there's so much that the world can teach you if you leave your comfort zone. I value education so much and I think that my appreciation for it can only be enhanced by living a different way of life for a little bit.
A bit more about me:
I love hiking, caving and exploring the great outdoors. Bloomington, Indiana has a plethora of lakes and forests that I have really found a home in. Most people don't think of Indiana as a great place for the outdoors but I beg to differ. There's nothing like climbing to the top of the fire tower and watching the sun set over Hoosier National Forest.
I try to stay off of technology as much as possible. Besides being an source of unnecessary stimulus in this hectic world, I believe that I appreciate my own day to day life so much more when I'm not constantly being bombarded with the highlights of everyone else's.
I am an avid reader and hope to one day teach English in a high school setting. I am currently living and studying in Spain and have discovered a love for learning new languages.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There's so much to see in this world and I depart with an awareness of my time here and a justified sense of urgency. I've lived with a certain hesitance and fear for most of my life and I believe it's time to jump into life full force and meet as many new people as I can in the most beautiful places on earth.
