About Me

Hi there ! I am Laura, a 25 year old belgian girl. With my GF Marine, we are travelling across the Americas ! Keep reading to find out :-)

ABOUT US : We love movies, books, beer (and cocktails), museums, photography, street art and urban poetry. We are both very spontaneous and love to be around fun people.

OUR GOAL IN LIFE : saving every penny we earn to travel the world together ! And also to buy belgian beers to the foreigners that we happily meet, welcome and guide ! We want to meet, learn and share as much as we can.

OUR BIG BIG BIG PROJECT : we are currently travelling across the USA in a converted BUS - we started the 1st of November, and are planning to stop once we are in Panama, central America.

That is our dream coming true : having a cosy home that can move, so that we can wake up to a different view everyday and go meet as many people as we can. We are only missing one thing in our bus : a shower. And a heater actually, for the winter weather. Ok ok , so we are missing two things !

IF YOU ARE WILLING TO HELP US ON OUR WAY, by letting us park nearby your house, offering us a warm shower or a good moment by sharing a meal, we will be so thankful !

ABOUT LAURA :
— I just graduated from my second Master here in Belgium : I studied a Master in Literature and Business Languages, and a second one in Management. As you can see, I love learning and "having a foot on different fields".
— I lived during 5 years in Louvain-la-Neuve (a University Town) and 1 year in Brussels (the capital of Belgium) but I often visit my parents in Chimay, in the countryside.
— I love cooking and sharing about it - I believe that it is a great way to break the ice and learn more about someone's culture. I just like to improvise, try new ingredients, learn new recipes, and eat all togehter. I can't help it, it just something I love.

ABOUT MARINE :
— I just gratuated from the IATA school, after studying advertising assistant. I love everything that is artsy : I am into design and photography, I lov e drawing/painting/doodling, I am quite creative and love exchange ideas with people.
— I live in a student flat in Namur (Belgium) during weekdays and with my mother, my stepfather and our amazing golden retriever Bali during the weekends.
— I don't speak english (Laura is translating everything for me right now) which is hard on me since I love travelling - although I always managed with my own version of "sign language" and great smiles ! But I am very willing to learn and I work (almost) every night on the duolinguo app !

WE ARE very easy going, nice and sometimes fun people. We are clean people, and like to help whenever we can. + Laura loves cooking and Marine is a great assistant. We would love to share a meal with you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are here to meet people, share stories around a good (or not so good) beer, get great tips about places we visit.

Truth is, we are mainly looking for warm shower on our way, as we can sleep in our comfortable bed in the van. However, from the 9 of december to the 23rd of December, we are looking to spend the nice in some places, away from the winter cold. If you are willing to host us along the route 66 and San Fransisco, that would be so so so great !
