About Me

Hi there, my name is Laura and I'm a simple girl. :-) I draw for a living, read to forget and occasionally create new recipes of Campari Spritz (also to forget, I guess). Can't dance, doing it anyway. Would love to learn how to cut hair (doing it anyway, too, but only harming myself).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A well-travelled lady once told me that you haven't really been in a country if you haven't stayed in someone's home. According to this thesis, I haven't travelled as much as I thought I had -- this frightened me so deeply that I decided to create an account here.

Interests

Language learning, art journaling, making million custom planners to make an impression of an organized life, calling my parents at least 2x per month, polishing my CV with amazing new adjectives ("bubbly personality", "reliable team player with excellent communication skills" etc.) :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I know this is a real bummer, but I've never actually taught myself to be a movie person (although I do enjoy lazy movie-pizza-caipirinha evenings), I'm still waiting for an angel to introduce me properly to this beautiful world – but I love happy and light music, and any book that makes me question something is a good book. Lately I've been reading everything about how technology is killing our brain cells. Scary!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to dentist by myself in 2016 (edit: also 2018)

Teach, Learn, Share

I always appreciate a good exchange of teaching how to make paper boats (from my part) and learning some awkward idioms that nobody uses anymore (from your part).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Time is all we have and I am willing to share it -- cooking, chilling, storytelling, exploring! Also, if you've got some potatoes... I can show you how the Latvian housewives create true wonders out of it. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

Italy, Portugal, Spain
