About Me

This year started off as me taking a year off school to spend some time abroad. Now that I'm over here I've realised that the world is more fascinating than I ever could have imagined, and it has turned into me wanting to travel and live in different places to learn about new cultures.

I've always been extremely curious about other people's cultures, but I now know that the version in Canada is very watered down. Actually experiencing cultures first hand is amazing.

I'm always trying new things, and looking for my next adventure.

I took dance classes since I was 2 until I was 17. I'm no longer taking classes but I still love to dance.

I love to sing as well, and I'm teaching myself to play the ukulele, although I'm not very good yet.

Music and theatre are massive parts of my life and I hope to work in theatre some day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couch surfing because I love learning about cities through the eyes of the locals. Sure, doing touristy things can be fun, but it's not a true representation of what a city is really like. When I travel I like to really get to know the place I'm staying, and meet lots of interesting people while I'm at it.

Interests

Dance, music, and theatre are my main interests. They have a special place in my heart and always make me feel happy and at home.

I also like to be outdoors. Growing up in Canada means doing a lot of outdoors activities. I ski as often as I can during the winter, and I'm always outside in the snow when it snows.

In the summer I love going swimming and hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

To be honest, I love all books, music, and movies.

With music there's always something to enjoy, whether it's the catchy beat, inspiring lyrics, or just songs that are fun to sing along to, there's something to enjoy in every song.

Books are amazing because everything you read can take you on an adventure. Whether you're reading for the hell of it, reading to take your mind off something, or reading to inspire your next trip, all kinds of books are enjoyable.

Movies are great too. When I'm having a bad day, nothing cheers me up better than watching a terrible movie. Bad movies are a lot of fun to watch and laugh at. Obviously good movies are great too. I think the only kind of movie I don't like are romantic comedies, but even those can be fun if they're bad.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took the train across Canada and driven across Canada twice. When I took the train across we went through the prairies at night and a lightning storm started. I was the only person awake so I sat in the observatory car and watched the lightning all night. It was amazing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a happy, upbeat person who is open to learning and trying new things. I'm also more than happy to teach other people new things as well.

I've recently learned a lot of new cooking skills, so I'm always happy to help cook meals if you're up for that.
