Overview
About Me
I'm Laura, 25 y.o
Coming from Montreal, I love diversity, multi-culturalism and discovering new places and peoples :)
I’m now doing a PhD in neuropsychology with a clinical formation as well as a research thesis. Brain, language development and babies, this is my cup of tea (but I also love to speak of other things: ecology, politics, anything that passionates you- as it is always interesting to discuss with someone about their passion). But I couldnt live and be happy if at least twice a year, I got out of the city to discover someplace else in the world - or just right back home in the country/province.
I am now travelling solo in Norway and Finland for three weeks (scientific congress opportunity at the end... the perfect opportunity to take some exotic -for me 😉- european vacations! )
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet some locals when I'll go travelling mostly. Getting some tips about what's the best in the region!
Meeting people I wouldn't have the chance to meet elsewhere.
And exchanging some stories while drinking a glass of wine/local beer!
Interests
I dance swing (lindy hop, charleston, basics of blues) since a couple of months now, and I just love it!
Society structures, psychology, environment, social policies, environmental policies, how things works, etc.
I’m curious by nature so I love to exchange about different lifestyle, stories, culture, interests. One life is not enough, so why not learn about other people's life.
At last, I would say that I love the outdoor, hiking on a trail in the forest or just sit in a park, reading or chatting.

Music, Movies, and Books
I could talk about a couple of books. But even if I enjoy listening to music, I’m not so much a fan of talking about it (except if you youself do music)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I studies a semester abroad at University of Western Australia in 2015... It's over since a couple of years but yeh, it was AMAZING! (Living there, meeting all these people that I wouldn't have met if I was only travelling, doing several roadtrip in WA, studying (for real, I took anthropology and sociology electives as some of my classes there and it was super interesting!)
And some are long lasting friendship (I decided to come to Norway instead of other country, as one of my good friend from that semester abroad is Norwegian)
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m most of the time vegeterian (on the short time, I’ll become full-time vegeterian), therefore, I’d love to cook you a small meal :) Because I’m definitly grateful that people want to host travellers!
I am also really curious about local politics and to discuss how it influences our habits, ways of living. And I am a science geek about the brain, cognition, child development, psychology.
I would love to teach a little of French, and some expressions ahaha!
I would like to learn some words in other languages.
I would really like to say "some musical instrument" but it would take at least a year so...
Share some advices, tips and stories about travelling.
Oh and exchange some suggestions of podcasts!
