About Me
Bonjour!!
My name is Laura, I am a 22 years old French girl.
In 2011/2012, I took part in the Rotary Youth Exchange program; I lived in 3 different host families in the suburb of Portland, Oregon. This year abroad expended my horizons and I have been trying to travel as much as possible ever since. I have had the opportunity to visit my best exchange friend in Brazil and completed my last year of undergrad studies in Connecticut. These were wonderful times where I had to chance to learn from locals. I have just graduated from the University of Nantes, France in June 2015 with an English major.
I am easy-going, love to go sight seeing, hiking and learning about new things!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have just been hired as a high school French teaching assistant in the UK, in the Oxford area. This is part of my college degree as I am planning to become an English teacher. I am completly new to the country and city of Oxford so I would like to meet up with foreigners to learn about the country together and/or with locals to know more about the English culture! I would also like to take advantage of this sort of gap year to visit the UK and Europe.
Interests
I love to learn about different cultures with local food, typical customs, and foreign languages.
Reading is one of my main passtime, from Emily Brontë to JK Rowling!
I enjoy sports such as swimming, hiking, or biking.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love movies such as the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, but I also watch a lot of different types of movies.
I usually listen to pop music to get some energy in the morning!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my best accomplishement is taking part of the Rotary Youth Exchange program. It allowed me to meet 50 other students from all over the world, to make life-changing friendships and to travel all around the country.
One amazing thing in particular would be when I swam with sea turtles in Hawaii!
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you want to know more about the French culture, I could definitly share parts of it with you! I enjoy talking around a cup of tea, cooking or more specifically baking!
