About Me

My name is Laura and I am from Southern Ontario, the Toronto area specifically. I've been living here in Australia for 3 months now. I started in Melbourne au pairing, then lived for a month on Magnetic Island working on at a resort!
I love to meet new people! Canadians are notoriously nice and I'd say I pretty much fit the general Canadian stereotype. I'm easy to get along with and love socializing. I'm very neat and organized, speak French as a second language, love animals and kids, like to cook, and always have played volleyball and soccer.
I'll also be traveling with a friend from home who is very outgoing and friendly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love Canada but there are so many amazing places to see in the world! And there's really no better way to enjoy an authentic experience than to spend time with the locals. Couch surfing is one of the many ways I feel that I can spend time in a place with the people who know and love it best.
Here in Australia, it also gives me the freedom to see many different places in a time frame that suits me best.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm all over the place with music; EDM, pop, rock, country, rap, hip hop. Basically whatever I hear and like, I'll listen to.
More of a TV show series type of girl. Gilmore Girls, Friends, Entourage, Stranger Things, Prison Break.
Books. I love going to the library and finding new reads. My go to genres are fiction and autobiographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving across the world.
Australia is only the second time I've lived away from home, the first time being when I went to college and even then I lived with my sister.
Moving here was a big step and one I haven't regretted for a second.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Canada is a great country with amazing values. Ask and I will tell as much as I know.
Learn: This is why I travel. To broaden my knowledge of the world and different cultures.
Share: I'll share my experiences and stories.
