About Me

Hey I'm Laura, and I have recently departed my beautiful home in New Zealand to go travelling around Europe. Now I'm living in Hirtshals, Denmark where I'm completing a working holiday.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy meeting new people! I'm going travelling and would love the opportunity to meet some people along the way :)

Interests

Dancing and photography are my two main interests.

I have been dancing ceroc (otherwise known as modern jive) here in New Zealand for the last 1.5 years and love it to bits. I'm going to learn Zouk, a new type of dance, when I am based in Denmark.

In terms of photography, I enjoy taking ethereal type portraits out in nature. Check out my photos by looking up Laura Goudie photography on Facebook.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I listen to a wide spectrum depending on my mood - anything from electronic, to indie, to classical and rock.

Books - Anything that is written by Brandon Sanderson or Juliet Marillier. Basically, books that are fantasy, historical fantasy, or redone fairytales (e.g. Heart's Blood by Juliet Marllier).

Movies - Howls Moving Castle. Or anything sad or that makes you think deeper about life (e.g. the Fountain)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went hiking in the Kaweka ranges in New Zealand during a snow storm with 5 awesome people. For 5 days. The ranges are in the middle of no where and have the most breathtaking views. We walked through snow up to our waists, and also slid down icy slopes for fun. My water froze and I just ate snow for hydration on one particularly bad day. When we got back to the carpark we discovered the cars were snowed in so we had to spend an extra night in the ranges and get rescued by local farmers with massive tractors (search and rescue vehicles couldn't even handle the snow!).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you a bit about photography and will go dancing with you if you fancy e.g. zouk, modern jive etc
