Hey here!

My name is Laura and as you can see at my profile, I haven’t done couch-surfing/hosting but hè we all need to start somewhere right! I do have quite some experience with airB&B but this seems a lot more personal which I’m a big fan of!

I live in one of Holland’s/the Netherlands most beautiful cities; Utrecht!
Here I study to be a sign language interpreter. I’ll (hopefully) graduate summer of 2018! During my education I have spend 3 months in the USA. I took part in an exchange program with a school for sign language interpreters where I spend most of the time learning ASL (American sign language). It was a awesome experience and I advice all students to try a study abroad!

Besides studying I also work at a pool as a lifeguard, receptionist and swimming teacher. I used to come there only for swimming (once a week), now I spend two to four days a week teaching kids how to swim and saving lives (okay no accidents happened during my shifts so I’m not a real hero (yet)):p.

After a satisfying day of hard work I love to spend some time in one or two of Utrecht’s 'gezellige'( you can only discover the real meaning of ‘gezellig’ in holland) bars/pubs with friends and friends-to-be:).

Music; Live! Mostly I enjoy Rock.
Movies; yes! But which one, depends on my mood. But no horror!
Books; I should make more time, but if I find the right book i'll spend hours reading, reading and more, just reading.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

One amazing thing I've done was traveling trough Scandinavia. One car packed with a tent, mattresses, sleeping bags and other camp stuff and just drive! At the end of each day search for the perfect spot(near a lake at the edge of the forrest) to spend the night, making a fire to get rid of the mosquito’s and just enjoying the moment!

I can share food with hosts i guess. I'm not a chef but i enjoy spending some time to combine the right veggies with some good meat and eating it with people who like eating it.
