About Me

Hi everyone!

My name is Laura, I'm easy going, down-to-earth explorer from Finland. Traveling is one of my greatest passions, I love meeting new people and learning about other cultures. I enjoy spending time wondering around and just exploring my surroundings. I love nature and living active life, therefore spending a lot of time outdoors is something very typical for me. Recently I have picked up an interest towards surfing, so if you are in a search o f surfing buddy, hit me up!

Along side all the traveling and active lifestyle I like reading, coffee, painting, exploring arts, learning pretty much anything from others, having good conversations, I could go on for ever..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was traveling in Sri Lanka some time ago with my good friend. Our trip was amazing, filled with astonishing nature, colorful culture, not to mention the beyond delicious food.

Even though the whole trip was amazing, one day really pops up. We were lucky enough to get to know a local tuktuk-driver on our couple days stay in city of Ella. He drove us to our next destination Yala, but on the way he made sure to show us all of his favorite places. Including a "secret waterfall", it was a common bathing place for locals, completely out of reach for tourists. To get there, required a small hike through a jungle and ofc a local guy to lead the way. When we finally got there the place was just breath taking. A plaza in the middle of a jungle, surrounded with huge treas with massive roots, and as a center of attention beautiful waterfall with a pool of crystal clear water to swim in. Not only the beauty of the place made this experience so special but the local people in there. Some group of young men were playing traditional Sri Lankan drums and sinking along. It was extremely startling. The whole experience was straight out of junglebook etc, one of the best memories from my time in Sri Lanka.
