Über mich
Hi there!
I am French and currently living in Galway (Ireland) for more than a year now.
I studied computer science in a French engineering school and moved to Galway for an internship, then I staid working in this amazing city.
My plan is to stay working here a few more months to get the work experience, and then take a year off or so and go travelling around the world. I don't have a specific route yet for my travel, just some ideas, I will see on the go. I would really like to go on an itinerant journey by bike as well.
In my day to day life I go out quite often, whether going in the pub to have a drink with friends in the evening but I love outdoors activities as well. I try to go hiking when the weather allows it and otherwise I am learning how to skate and practice the slackline. I also play tag rugby, which is a contactless version of the rugby, quite famous here in Ireland.
When I get the chance I like to snowboard, climb and doing some paragliding and kitesurfing.
And finally, here are some quotes I really like :)
"We're defined by our actions not our words." - Captain fantastic
"Live each day like it could be your last. Drink it in. Be adventurous, be bold, but savour it. It goes fast." - Captain Fantastic
"If you can dream it, you can do it" - Walt Disney
"Stay away from negative people, they have a problem for every solution." - Albert Einstein
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
AS A HOST:
I am happy to host people in order to get away from the metro-work-eat-sleep routine.
We can cook together, I can show around, give you some tips for your trip in the west of Ireland, and of course we can share a beer at the pub or home :)
AS A GUEST:
Beyond having a free home allowing me to travel for cheap, I am looking to meet poeple:
- with the same mindset of me
- who are locals and can show me their day-to-day life in the country I am, besides touristic activities.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I guess if you are a long-term couch surfer it won't seem extraordinary for you but I will always remember the first time I hosted a stranger on my couch. This girl was asking, on a travelers facebook group, for tips of cheap hostels to stay in Galway but unfortunately it was a busy weekend and prices were crazy high. So I offered her to stay at mine. It was the first time for her as well, staying at some stranger's, home but we immediately acted as friends and talked as if we'd known each other for a long time. The next day she went hitchhiking to another town and, when 2hours later, she texted me saying she was already there and hitchhiking was super easy I decided to go and join her (it was the first time I hitchhiked as well). We staid the night in a hostel and hiked together the following day, until I had to go back home on the Sunday evening.
I think this weekend was "the day my second life began, the day I realized I had only one". I realized that we can travel and meet amazing people even not far from home and with almost no money.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
We can share our travalling experiences around a beer or two.
As I previously said I love cooking, I would be happy to cook for you or cook together :)
