About Me

CURRENT MISSION

planning a trip around northern Europe for summer 2013

ABOUT ME

I am very English at heart but I love to visit new places and meet people from all over the world.
I've lived in lots of great places like London, Edinburgh and Madrid, but am still looking for somewhere to really call home.
I'm an English teacher and I love my work, so if you'd like a bit of help with English in return for a sofa that'd be great!

PHILOSOPHY

'Alice came to a fork in the road. "Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."' Lewis Carroll

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I organise Annecy's language cafe, where people of many nationalities spend their Monday evenings having a drink and exchanging their languages.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I've been more of a community participant than an actual couchsurfer, but I'm hoping that will change.

Interests

I love all kinds of sports, especially running and skiing. I love languages (am currently butchering French and I feel sorry for the poor people who have to listen to me!), love going out for a few drinks, meeting people, having a laugh, eating a lot. No different from most people :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any film that involves time-travel, racially motivated violence or high school proms and romantic first kisses.
At the moment, I'm only reading books that I can understand in French, which involves me spending a lot of time in the young fiction (9-12 ans) section in FNAC. All my books have pink sparkly covers and yes, this does embarrass me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working with little kids, you get to see amazing stuff all the time... sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way... but I wouldn't want to miss any of it!

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone who comes to Annecy leaves with an enduring love for several kinds of hot cheese dishes, even if they originally hated cheese (like i did).

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Czech Republic, France, Gibraltar, Ireland, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Switzerland, United States
