Overview
About Me
I am Laura, 23 years old and from Germany. I was raised in a small village in Western Germany and have Italian roots as my dad is from Italy. After I graduated from high school, I worked for one year in Long Island, NY, as an au pair and stayed with my host family there, who I am still in close contact with. After that, I spent a few weeks in Italy visiting a language class and then started my Bachelor studies in Tourism Management in the Netherlands. Currently, I am living in Cologne, Germany, for my internship in Marketing & Communications for a global hotel brand with a focus on holistic health travels.
Long story short: I am a young woman with a passion for traveling and exploring new places. Strong believer of love, peace & happiness!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When traveling I appreciate being able to get some insider tips on where to find the hidden gems of the destination and don't follow the crowds. I enjoy some sightseeing but I am happiest when I am able to experience the daily life of locals and become part of that instead of spending my time (and money) in touristy places.
Besides, I am also a very open-minded person and love to get to know other people and listen to their stories and experiences. I also believe in travel to heal movements and that traveling is also about self-transformation and making life experiences which you could never experience if you only stay in your comfort zone. I also love that it's super impressive how much people can have in common with strangers (aka soon to be friends).
I traveled for a few months with my boyfriend, Jeff, through Indonesia and since we are now back in Europe we want to explore that together as well. At the moment, I am living in Cologne and he is living in Brussels. We have a long-distance relationship but therefore also appreciate time and experiences together even more because they bring us much closer together :)

Music, Movies, and Books
It's very hard for me to tell what my favorites are.I like thrillers as well as cheesy love stories the most in books and movies.
The music I am mostly listening to is hip-hop (J.Cole, Russ, etc.), general charts and radio, but I also sometimes techno and classical music very much.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Did my university exchange program in Qatar and Bali for half a year with only one suitcase because even though I love shopping I experienced the true feeling of minimalism and pure happiness from the inside.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Spread love and happiness! :)
But I can also serve wine (from my family's vineyard in Italy) or cook a delicious meal which then can be enjoyed with the wine to make it a perfect combination haha.
