Overview
About Me
An avid writer, hiker, reader, and lover of all things chocolate, I'm an American who has been living in Morocco for the past four years. I first left the United States at age 19 for a study abroad semester in France, and that experience opened me up to the beauty of traveling abroad and the growth it can bring. This passion for travel and exploring new cultures later led me to Morocco, where I've worked as an English teacher, in the travel industry, and as a freelance writer and editor. I love to spend time outside, whether I'm at the beach, hiking, or simply taking long walks — one of my favorite activities while traveling is to walk around the places I'm visiting without a destination in mind. I'm passionate about learning new things, and in addition to reading, I'm working on my French and darija (Moroccan Arabic) skills, and taking bachata classes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
AS A SURFER: I always aim to genuinely get to know the places I travel to, going beyond the surface level and learning about the local culture and way of life. There's something special that comes with staying someone who lives in the places I'm visiting, and Couchsurfing allows us to form those connections with people we may not otherwise meet.
AS A HOST: Morocco has become like a second home to me, and I love being able to share what I've experienced here with others. Although I'm not a local, I'm always happy to show visitors around Casablanca and give general travel tips for the rest of the country. Moroccan culture and people are very hospitable, and I aim to embody that as a host here.
FOR SURFERS: Please note that I'm only able to accept female or nonbinary surfers at this time. I will only accept personalized requests that show that you have read my profile and are interested in exploring Casablanca, not just looking for a free place to stay.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked the Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu in Peru & the Acatenango volcano hike in Guatemala
Teach, Learn, Share
I've picked up a somewhat random assortment of skills and knowledge throughout my travels: booking cheap flights, random home remedies for minor bodily inconveniences, efficiently making beds, and cooking with whatever is left in the fridge. I am happy to teach and share all and any of the above with hosts and guests, and would love to learn whatever others are willing to share. I'm particularly interested in language exchange, as I'm a native English speaker and am working on my French and Arabic skills.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a natural storyteller, I love sharing stories of good karma, travel (mis)adventures, and tidbits I have picked up while on the road. I'm also happy to cook a meal for us — my specialties include chocolate chip cookies and Italian gnocchi!
