I am just another human trying to explore the world and meet new people. I prefer to experience the world through locals, not as many touristy attractions (they rarely reflect reality anyway). I hike quite a bit so if there are good ones nearby please point me in the right direction! I pick up languages pretty quick so me some of yours!

Interests

I studied marine biology in university while teaching surf, so I truly love everything ocean related. I was adopted from Russia as a child, so it was technically my first language. I grew up in Los Angeles and lost all my Russian, but I'm trying to get it back!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've produced my own music before! I have also seen some of the last remaining corals in Belize with my own eyes on a snorkeling trip for university.
I've also 3D modeled sea urchin embryos for marine biology research at UNCW, part of a larger study to search for cancer treatment options.

Teach, Learn, Share

I forage mushrooms quite often and cook them up for dinners in Autumn. Don't ever eat anything you're not confident in identifying! My favorites are chicken of the woods and chanterelle :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook! I like making stir frys and other various sautées. I am a very curious person and tend to surprise people with my unique perspective on things.
