Overview
About Me
Nomad, scientist, vegetable gardener and baker of artisan bread. I waas born and raised in Scotland but currently live in the German part of Switzerland.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The sharing economy makes much for sense than the alternatives. It's a fundamentally more human approach to life.
Interests
Varied. I have studied theoretical physics, biology and oceanography. I also learned about marine mammals in Iceland, and measured arctic air pollution levels on board an icebreaker. I used to work in finance (before I had my kids). I have an allotment and I grow my own fruit, veg, herbs and flowers (along with a fair few weeds). I bake a special kind of sourdough bread, which actually doesn't taste sour, but is so-called because it uses only natural wild yeasts for the leaven. I also love food culture in general, and recently participated in a Slow Food youth conference in Milan.
