About Me

Hi I'm Laura, I love being active and getting outside but my true passion is music. I am a piano performance major and a very artsy person in general. I am always interested to know what shows are in town or what galleries are opening. Traveling is one of my favorite things, I haven't traveled internationally as much I would like to have, but I try to always get out when I have an extended weekend for at least a stateside road trip.
Describing yourself is difficult, but I can say that I am told by other people consistently that I am a fun person and that I have an interesting and open view of the world. I hope to travel with Couch Surf and meet new people to help expand my experiences and gain introductions to new parts of the world through the people who live there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy Couchsurfing because you can meet people and experience a glimpse of their life, rather than just small talk over coffee. Everyone you stay with on Couchsurf becomes more of a friend than a stranger, and who doesn't enjoy having friends from all over the world?! I do move a lot but almost always have a couch for other travelers to sleep on while they experience the United States! I love traveling but also sharing the beauty I see in my own home with people who pass through.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studied piano and voice at the Conservatoire de Quebec towards at the end of my high school education. Living abroad and picking up more of the French language was a great experience. I still apply what I learned at that conservatory to my studies here where I live and this experience has reinforced my belief that experiences from traveling are remembered even when you get back home.

What I Can Share with Hosts

- I am happy to give piano lessons if you have access to a piano! I have experience teaching and am always happy to share my knowledge of piano with those who want to learn.
- Baking is one of my favorite relaxing activities, so if you have sugar and flour and a sweet tooth don't hesitate to ask for dessert!
- I work hard and am happy to help with chores around your home while I stay. I am not maid service but if you've got a project that's been haunting you to get done, feel free to ask for an extra hand.
