Hey, we're Laura and Alex. We are a friendly, happy couple from England.

After living together for many years in London we recently decided we had had enough of it and were ready for a slightly calmer existence. We are now living in Glasgow.

We are both quite sociable and outgoing. When staying with others we are always considerate and respectful, and open-minded. For our individual personal interests and stuff like that, please see below.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We only started couch surfing this summer when we went backpacking in Europe for a couple of months. We stayed with several people in Germany and Austria who were all so lovely (thank you all!), and we think it's just a really nice way to travel and be exposed to real people from around the world who have different experiences, ideas, stories, cultures, etc. to one's own, and share together. It is a great idea and one of the good things about this 'age of information' that we live in.

It's not really been feasible for us to host in the cramped shared accommodation that we have been living in before, but now that we have experienced surfing we intend for sure to do some hosting once we have settled down and have our own place.

What's it they say? Sharing is caring. CS gotta be one of the best things to come out of the internet...

Interests

Laura: I love being creative, and especially enjoy photography, illustration and printmaking. I love travelling and visiting new places and going for walks. Especially meeting new people and enjoying a beer or two with them and hearing their stories.

I'm quite interested in holistic ideas about health and food and nature and how humans live with nature.

Alex:
I like to climb trees, learn and do new things. Into music, art, film, reading stories and poetry and stuff like that, people - hearing what they have to say, having old and new friends to chat to and share a drink with, going to the pub, writing, working as little as possible unless the work is worth doing, political activism for the right causes. I'm pretty open-minded and relaxed in general, although also can be pretty idealistic and into how to make the world a better place as well.

We like cooking food, sharing food, talking about food, eating food, and food. Likewise with drinks!

We're also both big nature lovers and like being outdoors, hiking, canoeing, camping, etc.

Alex music: rock, punk, blues, heavy stuff, old stuff, jazz, indie, bla bla bla, whatever is good! Books: Burroughs, Bukowski, Kafka, Welsh, Heller, but more more more, anything fiction and good, or non-fcition and mind-blowing. Currently trying to unclog my brain from all the shite they made me read at uni.
