Overview
About Me
I'm easy going and a very welcoming person. I enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life and different backgrounds and therefore belong to various Meetups, Yelp and the Internations groups. I think one can continuously grow and expand ones mind by meeting others and listening to stories and life experiences from other points of view.
I'd be happy to cook meals together, sit and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee or go grab a drink. I do have some mobility issues, so I’m not able to go salsa dancing or pub crawling quite yet but I can definitely give you recommendations of where to go for fun, neat things to check out or just a good idea on what locals do around Edmonton and the greater area.
If you’re up for joining my great group of friends, you’d be welcome if there is a brunch, board game night or group gathering at a festival (Edmonton has at least one a week, if not more, during the summer).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel when I can - be it in Canada or other countries. So when a friend told me about couch surfing I was very intrigued about the idea. What a cool opportunity to connect with like minded travellers! I can help people see the city, province and country from a local perspective.
I hope when I'm traveling, I get to see cities/rural areas from someone else's point of view. As well, if there is a must see festival or event happening at that time, please let me know. I’ll be new to your area so any information you share will be much appreciated.
Interests
I'm a farm girl that has lived in the city for 19 years now, making my interests vast. If there's a good patio spot, live music, festival, tasty food or fun new people to socialize with, you'll find me there.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a wide range of tastes in music and movies. Really depends on my mood and who I'm with. However I do avoid horror films and tv series (yes, I feel I need to add that after watching a few twisted episodes of black mirror!) unless it's very bright outside and I've got lots of people around me.
Books I tend to read are ones that relate to food, gardening, agriculture, traveling and some mythology, fiction, few finance and every once in a while history. What can I say? If it’s well written and interests me, I’ll give it my best to get through the book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I always try to do something unique or specific to the area I've travelled to. My favourite things narrowed down are exploring my Danish roots through castles and museums, enjoying many beautiful beaches and oceans, climbing Mayan ruins, sipping tasty samples in wineries and breweries and enjoying the local life at farmers' markets.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've got an abundance of agriculture knowledge and if you like agritourism, I can suggest cool little restaurants and wineries in the middle of no where. Also ice cream stops... that’s kind of essential once summer hits around here. I also can suggest what areas in Alberta would be good to see certain agricultural practices or where some neat rural shops are (some of our best shoe stores are in rural Alberta!).
If you enjoy festivals and events, I'd be happy to let you know what's happening Edmonton and offer a ride if I'm going there. We really are a winter city, so layering up is a smart idea, but summer is pretty great here too (when it finally arrives). My friends and I have volunteered with many various events and organizations over the years, so I can give you a very honest summary of events and festivals that are worth your time attending.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a respectable, trustworthy and honest person. I would treat hosts with the same level of respect I'd hope others would do for me when I'm hosting. If you were once a Girl Guide or a 4-H’er, you'll understand the golden rule and the drive to treat people with respect. I also travel with random Canadian/Alberta swag as a thank you but if time allows, I’d be happy to cook a meal to share. ;)
