Overview
About Me
I'm a Kiwi travelling abroad, half-Swiss so half my time in Europe has been spent living in Switzerland with family. I completed my first Camino de Santiago in mid-September 2017 and would love to do another one in the near future. I'm interested in spirituality and its importance in the human story. I also like to take care of myself (e.g. non-smoking, I love eating vegetables). Throughout my 2 years since leaving New Zealand I've had some amazing experiences I would love to share with hosts and fellow travelers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best part of travelling is the people you meet along the way. My favourites are the unexpected encounters that can so drastically change your course and teach you things you never expected. I also think that websites like this are about more than a 'free place to crash'. I'd rather look for people I can connect with and we can share stories and experiences. There's nothing like a bit of open-mindedness, curiosity and respect to gain new perspectives and have great conversations and adventures ✌

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked to the Lotschenpass Hut on the border of Bern and Valais (in Switzerland), and the next morning walked up the Hockenhorn and saw the sun rise over the Alps! The most incredible views I've ever seen :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you a bit about New Zealand (basically what it was like to grow up on a farm 🐑). I've been in Europe since May 2017 - I love sharing new travel tips and developing new perspectives about the countries I'm in. And I'm a fan of slow travel, of going with the flow and seeing what everyday life is like in other places, and of being inspired to travel more.
I believe everyone we meet has something to teach us, about life in general or about ourselves. Things I'd love to learn more about: dancing, anything to do with mysticism, prayer and spirituality; alternative ways of living; money-less/ gift economies; gardening and sustainable food etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Obviously I'm keen to help out. I can cook basic meals (especially with lots of veggies!), and enjoy cooking together with people! I grew up with lots of people staying at our place, visiting for days and sometimes weeks at a time. The spirit behind this community is something I fully support and want to give back to.
