About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I see my life as an ongoing collection of absurd stories to tell once I'm an old lady.
ABOUT ME
I am a Forrest Yoga teacher and will begin my Masters Art Therapy program in Santa Fe, New Mexico in September.
On paper, I am a student of Art and Psychology. In reality, school is just a catalyst for my real education. I spend my time learning and loving and smiling. I appreciate absurdity and find it in most situations. I learn the most from trees and bugs and ocean waves. My clothes almost never match. I don't like to walk too fast. I find beautifully meditative qualities in simple activities like washing the dishes or chopping an onion. I hate dishwashers. I like the complexity of simplicity.
PHILOSOPHY
During the first week of my semester studying in Rome I took a tour of the Capuchin Crypt, an ossuary under Santa Maria della Concezione. The crypt is elaborately decorated with the bones of at least 4.000 friars, a stiflingly amazing sight. I took particular notice of an engraved plaque in the last room of the crypt, which read "Quello che voi siete noi eravamo; quello che noi siamo voi sarete" or "That which you are we once were; that which we are you will be." If that's not obvious proof that we are all interconnected in a beautiful circle of life, I don't know what is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Although I'm just getting started in the CouchSurfing world, I'm a verified member. I love to teach almost as much as I love to learn, and I'm excited to do both here.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm just starting out here on CouchSurfers. I recently spent my first significant amount of time away from home, studying and traveling in Europe for five months.

My all-time favorite artists/bands are, in order of preference, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Janis Joplin. I'm a fan of all sorts of folk, rock, indie rock, and alternative rock. Play something for me.
My favorite books are Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Great Gatsby, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, On the Road, Le Petit Prince, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Franny and Zooey.
