I see couchsurfing as a way to help people and yourself. With the view on other freetime activities, (religious ) believings or just a different lifestyle youll get the chance to look at your values and the things you believe in from a different point of view and you rethink and reflect on them. And I think that in a world of growing globalization and "Multikulti" its even getting more important to know yourself and to learn to respect other opinions and lifestyles.
