Hey! I'm Laura or Dee to my friends and fam, I'm a 'late twenties' Welsh gal who is very friendly, lighthearted and like to meet new people however I'm also very good at respecting others privacy :)
I'm a keen activist for social issues here at home and hope I can continue trying to make a difference whilst away.
I love a good laugh and try to smile at every opportunity even when I'm not feeling the best, I can't remember the last time I had an argument with someone, which I think can only be a good thing, I'm very open minded, laid back and I'd like to think easy to get along with.

Just finished a two year stay in Australia where I had my first couchsurfing experience and I would describe it as the one of the best things I have ever done. I made friends for life from the experience and can't wait to meet more like-minded people in the future.
I've been back in in Wales for almost a year now and begin my IEC in Canada in August 2018. Excited to continue my journey.

Interests

I have an unhealthy interest in sports, mainly rugby! I love going to games and getting in the spirit! Especially if Wales are in an international game.
Photography, I am by no means a professional but thoroughly enjoy taking and editing photos, mainly of landscapes and nature, I am hoping to learn portraiture.
Poetry, I've tried writing my own but it was pretty terrible, so prefer to read it, I am however weirdly good at making parody songs.
Singing terribly, this tends to happen most in the shower, but can rear it's head at any time.
Socialising, I love speaking to new people who know hundreds of things that I don't, I like to hear different views and to learn.
Also wine and rum.

Firstly, I would like to say that if you would like me to chip in for anything during my stay please do not be afraid to ask. By no means do I expect a free ride and feel very uncomfortable if I feel like I'm taking advantage. Please bare that in mind

I love puns and jokes. They're terrible but will put a smile on your face.
I have a massage therapy certificate so can give a pretty good back rub (so I've been told)
I can give you a cwtch!
I'm a terrible cook, might as well put that out there, but my speciality is cheese toasties!
