About Me
Laura : Hi all! I am a travel lover, I studied tourism and hospitality, so you can tell :)
I love nature, outdoor life and above all be aware of the environment.
know the culture and really embrace the places where I put my feets on, is what I love the most!
My hobbies are photography and art, and of course traveling
I am cheerful, gentle, calm (even though I also like partys) good talker and cooker!
Vegetarian since 10 years ago because of the planet and our animals.
Bruno: Hey! I´m a professional musician, I studied Jazz and since then I'm now playing and teaching for a living.
What I like the most when travelling is to get in touch with the locals (musicians or not), but if you know where the good music is at, I aprecciate ;)
I love to cook, skateboarding, drink some beers and have a nice chat! So, I can say those are my hobbies hehe
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We think it is one of the most useful ways to travel and meet people, also to know better the local culture.
Interests
Laura : As I said before I love nature , so any outdoor activities IM IN !
I believe that photography is a way of art, is expression and communication, has the avility of connect people without words. Is like an universal language.
Bruno: When I travel I´m always looking for local concerts, jam-sessions (Jazz or any other kind), getting to know other musicians and local people in general.
I also love skateboarding and spending time outside in the park, or just chill a bit on the grass.
I´m always curious about local food or markets since I'm a couisine enthusiast, I eat pretty much everything haha
Music, Movies, and Books
Laura: Im not really peacky when is about music, but my playlist is most Indie, folk and organic electronic music.
My favorite songs any of RODRIGO GALLARDO, Dustin Tebbut , El Buhó.
Favorite book: A thousand splendid suns
Favorite movie: EAT, PRAY, LOVE. no questions.
Bruno: I love Jazz, from Dizzie Gillespie to more modern stuff mixing hip hop, like Soweto Kinch (I'm a bit suspicious on this one, cause I played with the guy hehe). Love Funk like James Brown or Prince. World Music, especially african music like Bana from Cape Verde or Traditional Brazillian Music (I lived in Brazil for a year to study music there). Old School Rock n´Roll, some Techno to party and Folk music.
Books: Any literature from the Nobels like Gabriel Garcia Marquez, José Saramago or Ernest Hemingway.
Movies: The Classics like 2001 Space Odyssey or One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. Don't like action movies
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Laura : When I look in the past, its hard to decide, because I think, actually I have done so many cool things, but for me the most brave one is deffinitly the fact to just leave home and start a new life in a different country.
In another hand, I have loved, suffered, cried, lost and gained many experiences, people and moments.
I have run, done rafting, extreme canopy, hanging from a liana in the jungle to the void, get a motorbike license, tour guide, receptionist, lifeguard, waitress, but like the most important one, LOVE LIFE no matter what
Bruno: I can say that what I'm most proud of, is to cut through the music industry and have the blessing of doing what I love, that is to play gigs for a living. The amount of time that I dedicated on my instrument, teached me to stay honest and to never forget about my goal and where I was coming from. Stay grounded at all times, or at least trying to hahaha
Teach, Learn, Share
Laura: I love sustainable culture! So any information that I can share from my experience or that you can teach me Welcome!
Languages also if possible and vegetarian cooking, I LOVE FOOD
Bruno: Everything about music! I'll be happy to share information on that. Also, to see different points of view cause music it´s an art form, and I'm sure it's better when shared and discussed.
Some idioms or funny expressions from each country!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Laura: A rich vegetarian meal, good talk, always and a good walk wherever. I even accompany sports! I am very open to the options that people may like and I try to share everything up to the point where I decide that I do not like it.
Bruno: Nice meals, sharing, laughing and connecting!
