About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My partner and I have just completed a 6yr motorbike trip, from Germany to Australia. We've just bought a German ex-post van and currently exploring Europe.
ABOUT ME
Born in 1973 in a small seaside Italian town, I migrated with my family to Australia in 1986, where I developed an extreme fondness of warm temperatures.
After a trivial yet cataclysmic a-ha moment in 2004, I left behind all that was familiar, safe and warm and embarked on a 5 year stint as an overland tour guide.
My travels saw me discover South America (over and over again) and venture into the black depths of Africa, from where I emerged tanned, happy...and utterly in love with an eccentric German who had traveled the world for 8 years in a dilapidated Land Rover.
My next adventure saw me throw caution to the wind and join Chris on a year long stint through the Middle East, where I cemented my belief that I am inherently tropical. Once back in Europe, we organised ourselves for our next adventure : a motorbike odyssey, from Europe to Australia, which we completed in 2018.
2019 is all about Europe, camper life and slightly more demure adventures.
PHILOSOPHY
"Not all those who wander are Lost" J.R.R.Tolkien
'Live and Let Live' probably sums me up best. I am respectful of other's choices, and expect the same in return.
I may be critical of governments, but rarely of people. I embrace all cultures and creeds...as long as they are not oppressing others. Simple.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Plenty! Just not through this site...
Interests
Travelling of course, devouring good books, savouring delectable food and enjoying the company of like-minded people.
I have little patience for small talk, and prefer to delve into the deeper side of life, the universe and our own existence.
I LOVE philosophising while lingering over a glass of red wine. I'm opinionated and almost obsessed with current affairs. Political discussions get my juices flowing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
* Wathcing the sun rise over the Serengeti...aboard a hot-air baloon ride.
* Spending two weeks 'stuck' in a tiny little village in Sudan...and being welcomed into a local's home. A family wedding and Hajj celebrations later; it turned out to be the most amazing experience in years.
*Being the only tourist in Hargheysa, Somaliland, and being welcomed by a round of applause from a local crowd. Incredibly humbling.
What I Can Share with Hosts
