About Me

CURRENT MISSION

learn how to tread more softly but with conviction

ABOUT ME

i am a lover of pleasure and problems, grassroots community ventures and trying to find the hardest way to complete an easy task. i like cycling everywhere, and recycling everywhere - living resourcefully, jumping in skips and make do and mend.

If you are a banker, a sports personality, work in advertising or generally believe in the exploitation of others for your own personal gain then we will probably not get on.

i play trumpet in a few bands and have a background in all things theatrical, enjoy making theatre, film and music, and writing nonsense tales. right now i'm really into stop-frame animation. you can see some of my works on -

*new website* (oh yes) www.lauraspark.co.uk

I dont like generic requests, i like to be approached by people who feel a friendship or meeting would be mutually beneficial, therefore i ask that if you contact me please make it personal or i will assume you are a banker.

PHILOSOPHY

life is all about the celebration of life, therefore, it inevitably has to get pretty morbid.

Interests

co-mutiny, creativity and the cosmos. dabbling, expression and exploration, art, surrealisme, theatre, avant garde puppetry, brass, bikes, bells, whirrs and dings, herbcraft and folklore, stories of witches and warlocks, reading, writing, moss and leaves, really tall trees...

Music, Movies, and Books

i love ridiculously lush beautiful journeying, mind bending achievements in 'the arts'.
briefly
Robert Wilson, Robert Lepage, Howard Barker, David Grieg, Beckett, Pinter, Kane, Tarkovsky, Lynch, Bergman, the surrealists, Murakami, Lovecraft, R.A. Wilson, Borges, Kafka, Tolstoy, Ken Russell, ...and on and more and so....

i like most things really that are colourful (or black and white) and immersive.

yes and i love prog and wild gypsy folk!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

couchsurfing wont let me move on without answering this, but its pretty hard to think of a sincere answer right now, maybe i dont believe in awe. or that its so epic that once struck with it one would find it pretty hard to come back from the brink and type it all down on a computer. or maybe, just maybe, i need to get out more!

Teach, Learn, Share

hrm, i could teach you the TRUMPET! or how to make an awesome cake, even a vegan cake, or a good lasagne. or other tasty treats. i could teach you how to take four sticks and turn them into HOURS OF FUN. i'm a very good agony aunt. i want to learn how to better use my cognitive and creative limbs, and, well this list goes on forever.

i think possibly the greatest things we could all teach each other are not things that will come to mind immediately as they are so deeply rooted in us that we do not see them as exceptional skills.
