About Me

I work through the day and study at uni at night which keeps me pretty busy. I think the world and its people have so much to offer and I still have so much to see and learn. I lived in Australia until I was 19, then I moved to Brazil, married a Brazilian and I've been living here ever since. I'm good for a laugh and enjoy chats and learning/seeing new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I love the idea. I've always thought that you have to get to know locals to understand the place and this enables that in an easy way. So far, I've mainly exchanged messages and given people tips about travel in Tasmania and in Curitiba (Brazil). My husband and I have hosted a couple of people through couchsurfing, but I have only been hosted once (and it was great). We often host random passerbys (friends of a friend etc) and show them as many things as we can.

Interests

Different cultures, languages, TV series and cooking. That last one might be more eating, but you´ve got to prepare it first, right?! I love listening to people's life stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge Friends fan. Having studied Literature at uni it might seem strange but my absolute favorite books are Harry Potter. I like Notting Hill, The Bucket List, UP and Big Bang Theory. I like shorts. I love music and normally have something on in the background, but no special favorites here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taught blind people English which was a wonderful challenge and very rewarding.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you walk into a room in Japan and everyone starts commenting on your cute, big, yellow Tweety slippers, chances are they're telling you to take them off and not complimenting you on their fluffiness! >_

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm much more of a listener than a talker, but I am happy to share stories and experiences. I'm alright in the kitchen and would like to share a meal together. If there's one thing in life that I'm very good at, it's being a friend and getting a smile out of everyone.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Cambodia, Chile, France, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Saint Martin (French part), Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
