About Me

Hey! I'm Laura :)
I am studying a Master in Internationalization in Barcelona University and I'm really interested in International Law and International Relations. I studied Political Science, so I adore to discuss about any topic related with politics, I don't care whether is local, national or international.
My hometown is Girona, a cozy city in the North-East of Spain, and here is where I live.
I think life is made of moments and I love to capture them with my camera, which I carry everywhere I go
I love to eat, specially Italian food. Actually, I could eat pasta & pizza everyday. However, I try to lead a healthy lifestyle so I reserve these dishes for special occasions/cheatmeals. Mediterranian and Asiatic food (Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai...) also drive me crazy. Ah, and I always think it's a good occasion to drink a cup of tea!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I not only want to visit a country, but also to know how do people live and to get the chance to know locals and to exchange opinions, experiences, ideas...
I can't accept guests because I live with my family, but I can show you my city and the beautiful beaches of the Costa Brava:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-I was volunteer in the Philippines during a month in a house for neglected children who barely spoke English, but still, we were able to understand each other, I don't really know how.
-I went from Tel Jericho to the Mount of Tempation by cable car, it was quite windy and the cabin was moving all the way, my friend was taking videos of my frightened face (I'm afraid of heights) and making the cabin move even more; we arrived two minutes before the closing time of the Monastery and they didn't let us in, but at least I'm not afraid of cable cars anymore :)
-I got on many marshutkas during my trip in Georgia and I'm still alive! (If you have been to Georgia you'll understand me; if you haven't, I strongly reccomend you to go;) )
- I rode an elephant in Chiang Mai, and I had the opportunity to shower him and feed him aswell (they eat a lot, BTW)
- Snorkeling in the Red Sea and being surrounded of all kind of colors, sizes and shapes fishes
- I've seen a spectacular starry night (including the Milky Way), near the Sani Pass in Lesotho

Teach, Learn, Share

-I want to learn cooking styles from all around the world, and I can teach how to do a great "tortilla de patatas" with "pa amb tomàquet"
-I want to learn as much languages as possible, I'm sure its the best way to get to know a country/culture, and I love how happy local people gets when you speak with them in their own language.
-I can't eat with chopsticks, a lot of people has teached me how to do it (I even watched a Youtube tutorial), but still I'm not able to use them properly. Anyway, I will never give up, so if you know how to do it, I would be so glad that you teach me---I finally learned how to eat with chopsticks in Hong Kong! (I'm actually really proud of myself)
- I can teach you how to solve Rubik's Cube, I used to solve it in less than 40 seconds when I was younger
