About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am on my gap year and my objective for my year away is to discover why I am here and what I want to do with my life! I want to explore the places I have only dreamed of and meet new people who are going to inspire me!
ABOUT ME
I am an easy-going, free-spirited girl from New Zealand on a gap year in Canada! I would describe myself as a very adventurous, down-to-earth girl who is ready for a life time of excitement. I am heavily involved with music-I play the guitar, sing and I write a lot of poetry and songs. I am always up to try new things so that coincides with my need to travel!
I have lived in the same small town in the lower north island in New Zealand for the past 18 years of my life so this year away is my chance to experience the life I have been waiting for. I am now officially spreading my wings and flying head first into the wind!
PHILOSOPHY
I live for adventure and spontaneity. I had a wonderful upbringing but I became a bit of a trouble-maker during my mid-teenage years. I now live my life to help others, and consider myself a very understanding person. I went through emotional trouble so I love to give advice and listen to people's thoughts and ideas. I live my life to live my life.
Interests
I am very passionate about music-playing guitar and singing are my major hobbies. I also love writing and blogging. I grew up on a farm so love the outdoor rural lifestyle, but I am also very comfortable in the busy rush of cities. I love animals, tattoos, and any kind of self expression such as spoken word, music, and art.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am open to every kind of music and love learning about different cultures and their music. I especially loved the South African music when I travelled there in 2013. Books-I feel I need to read more. My favourite books are probably 'The Purple Hibiscus' by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, 'Lolita' by Vladimir Nabokov and 'Before Their Time' by 'Joelle Sander'. I also love watching spoken word performances. As for movies, I am all about comedy, romance, and action (But don't show me a scary movie as I will relate it to real life haha).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I travelled to Vietnam in 2009 with my family and it was amazing to see the different way of life compared to my way of living in New Zealand.
I also went to South Africa in 2013 and it was the most wonderful 2 weeks of my life. I got to experience things which I never had before such as riding an elephant and singing with a community orphanage in Port Elizabeth. The happiness of the people made me realise how simple life is when you forget about the hardship which life can be!
