ABOUT ME
I'm 30 and my husband is 35. We have been together for 10 years. My husband Michael is a community lawyer, age 35. I'm a dreamer, I like politics, I'm a cook, a gardener, and a great dancer and I love accupuncture and chinese medicine.
Nous sommes marie. Michael en a 35 ans et Laura en a 30 ans.
Hablamos espanol.
PHILOSOPHY
Be surprised by something new every day. People are good -- be good to yourself and be good to those around you. It's better to slow down and enjoy where you are than to rush to the next place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just signed up on this site because I believe in global community, so I'll start at the beginning by offering my guest room. As I learn more about how to be involved I'm sure I'll add on ways to participate.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When Laura was 19 and Michael was 24, we traveled around the US. We slept everywhere. Best place: a squat in Philadelphia in March. Cold but inspiring. As a student organizer travelling across the U.S. Laura slept all over also. Worst place: a filthy floor in a boy's dormitory, I slept among to hair balls and trash. Michael lived in France for a year at age ten and lived for a year in Merida, Mexico (1992) and 6 months in El Salvador (1997). In 2007 Laura spent a month living in a volunteer house on the Arizona, USA and Mexico border helping people who had been captured by the border patrol as they attempted to enter the US via the desert.

I have seen incredibly large old growth trees and slept in them to save them from being cut down.
I have supported people as they decide to live their dream life.
I have planted a fantastic garden.
I have been to Palestine (among other places) and it touched my heart and troubled my soul.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sometimes our biggest mistakes make the best stories. We try to grow as much of our own food as we can. Come in August and September if you want to make pickles and can peaches. We'll share with you the best places to get coffee in Seattle and places to go when it's raining in Seattle and the best places to see gorgeous forests in the Olympic Peninsula.
