About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life to the full, have fun along the way and most importantly TAKE THE SCENIC ROUTE!

ABOUT ME

A scatty dreamer with a memory like a sieve but a big heart!

PHILOSOPHY

'WHY NOT?': I like to live by this mantra, it keeps life fresh and interesting!

My general life philosophy falls under the following:
...try anything once, give things a go, be spontaneous, you'll never know if you don't try, experiment, throw caution to the wind, life's too short...

You get the gist!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a relative newbie to this CS experience but think its a fantastic way to meet new people, see cities from a new perspective and enhance travellers interactions and experience from so many different angles.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a member of couchsurfing for 2 years (!!) but only recently took the plunge and surfed in Chile/Argentina. Had the most amazing experience and was treated like a longlost friend, has left me wondering why I didn't do it sooner!

...I have also found myself entangled in my fare share of random travelling experiences (answer an ad for a spare carspace to a festival, get offered a seat in a private plane..?!!)

Interests

Beautiful architecture
FOOD! eating it, cooking it, sharing it...all guises, all cuisines. Pretty much the only things i don't like are licorice and peanut butter, bleugghhhh
Bikram yoga - i'm fairly new to it but hooked
Long solitary walks in nature
Rocking out on the dancefloor
Making pretty things with my hands...jewellery, ceramics

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow...too many to mention, where do I start? I'm a voracious reader and it has to be my all time favourite way to escape reality - curl up with a great book, a cup of tea and a log fire and transport yourself to a totally different dimension and back again within the hour!
Favourites have to include Nabokov/Lolita, Francois Sagan/Bonjour Tristesse, Paul Bowles/The Sheltering Sky, John Fowles/The Magus...I really could go on and on...
Music - I'm a bit of a chameleon and its such a cliche to say it but I pretty much love a bit of everything and embrace all kinds of music for different moods. Most recent live music I heard was a performance of Sibelius' 5th symphony by the London Philharmonic Orchestra...in the same breath, I like nothing more than throwing myself around to techno (and all thats inbetween!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekked across the Thar desert on camelback and slept under a beautiful swathe of stars :)

Sailed around Svalbard and Arctic Norway...spotted polar bears, scaled icebergs, skinny dipped under the freshest purest waterfalls, danced under the midnight sun. AMAZING!
