One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

With my journalist friend Sakari we once visited gold miners in Lapland, Finland, in a place that could be only reached first by a boat ride and then by foot. It was in the middle of the most untouched nature, where the silence was so profound you could almost touch it. It was like at the edge of the world (which it pretty much was, actually, when you think about the location in the Northern Finland). And there, in the midst of the very desolate and wide landscape, there was the tiniest library we had ever seen, especially put there for the gold miners to enjoy. We spent one day and one night there with the miners, listening to their stories and learning about their way of making a living.
