Overview
About Me
I'm currently a student at Aarhus University and working part as a waiter. I currently live right by the train station in Aarhus. Between September, 2014 and April, 2017 I have travelled a lot and was recently bartending in a Schneebar in Switzerland.
I think of myself as a positive person and I try to view mosts things as good or learning experiences. I have learned and experienced many different viewpoints while travelling and I do my best to be open minded. I do enjoy political discussions, and talking with folks of different opinions.
I get quite a few requests a week, and my flatmate hosts too so I will often decline because of that and lack of time. If you experienced that I didn't write any reason for declining it might be that I was in a hurry, or just thought your message was a copy-paste one ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Eventually, I want to be able to host others when I get flatmates who will let me, so until then I have had to take a loan on that karma, haha :)
But seriously, I love meeting new people, and love cooking food from my home country to people who appreciate it, and couch surfing is pretty great at facilitating this. If the people I meet here have time to hang out with me and show me their home and city, all the better!! I am probably more of the original couchsurfing ideology in that I really enjoy being able to hang out, cook, chat, do stuff with my hosts and not just having a place to sleep. Locals are the best people to spend time with when going new places :) I hope that you're interested in hanging out too and if you can sneak the word pistachios into your message text, I would know you took some time to read a bit. Also, I just love pistachios, god, if there is anything I will binge eat, it is them :D
Interests
Always happy to jump and run around on rocks, we do not have many of those back home. Kayaking and seasports are old and loved hobbies.
I am not the biggest partygoer, but I do like to go out and dance, just not every day, haha. Dancing for me is more a spontaneous thing I will do while walking on the street or cooking in the kitchen while singing two lines of a song rather than any dance floor.
I love to see the culture and nature of the place/country I visit though. And just wander around town, especially the local markets :) I miss these the most!
Back home I play video games, do a lot of reading and listening to music or audiobooks. I am quite into politics also, though with new people I sometimes scare them with my passion ;) hehe
Music, Movies, and Books
Currently I'm listening a lot to audiobooks and podcasts so I am not listening to as much music as before. My favourites in music are still Turf (Arg) Kings of Leon (US) and the Floor Is Made of Lava (DK). I love foreign music where I can hardly understand what they are singing (Rammstein, is my go to), but generally I listen to indie or rock (Bon Iver, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon and the like)
I love reading too (have a loaded kindle) especially the classics (Frankenstein, Dracula, Pride and Prejudice) or short stories. Modern books include mostly fantasy and sci-fi (Harry Potter, A Song of Ice and Fire), and Brandon Sanderson's works (The stormlight archive, mistborn), but historical fictions are cool too (Ken Follett)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snowboarding at 70 km/h down a Norwegian mountain, the moment when you realise a mistake could go reeeeeeaally bad, but damn this is fun!
Teach, Learn, Share
I was travelling in South America over a year now so my Spanish is quite fluent in most areas, but I will have to work a bit to get it back to its original sophistication. I have during my travels learnt to make various artesanias (thread bracelets (macrame) and rubber bags) and I will gladly teach you all I know. I will GLADLY teach home home recipes (most are easy :) and make pancakes for you. I love making pancakes :) besides this I really enjoy cooking for or with my host/guests
