ABOUT ME

I'm an (almost) fresh graduate who decided that if I didn't succeed in getting the job I wanted after uni I would dedicate a year to travelling instead. Guess which one happened! I'm a vegetarian who gets on with anyone who doesn't tell me I haven't lived until I've tried bacon and enjoy a spot of writing now and again.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe life is for living and that living means every individual's definition of what makes it worthwhile. For me it's travelling and experiencing new things, never sitting still for too long and always doing things to keep a smile on your face.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, I surf, I socialise. I've met some great friends at home and away because of CS and always look forward to the next surfer experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I came across CS while stuck for a place to stay in Texas a few years ago. Someone told me to try it out and I haven't thought of doing anything else since! I've stayed with and hosted some really great people and love the whole philosophy of the site, it makes travelling what it's supposed to be about.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love reading and my favourite books are Scarlett Thomas and Nicole Krauss novels. I read pretty widely though and enjoy philosophy and feminism, oh and travel too!
My favourite films include Inception, Serenity (I'm a big Joss Whedon fan), 10 Things I Hate About You and Notting Hill. Music? Anything goes!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Being taken to a roof party in Brooklyn with an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline where I shared stories with new people and got tipsy under the stars. It has to be one of the best nights of my last trip.

When I picked up an Asian phrasebook the first word I learned was 'sanuk', pronounced 'sanoooook!'. It might not be pronounced that way but that's what it sounds like in my head. It means 'fun'. I think it's incredibly fun word, I hope you do too!
