ABOUT ME

Oh boy, where to begin. I want to sample every bit of life I possibly can. I want to travel as much as I can, live in foreign cities, become part of a new community, new culture, new language, and feel connected to as many parts of the world and I can in one lifetime. I am fascinated by the underlying similarities hidden in the details of humans, and only wish to enjoy making connections with seemingly different people. I love the forest and feeling capable of surviving the forces of nature, only to embrace its beauty. I love exploring cities, though I think at heart I am destined to live in the countryside. I only wish to explore myself and others as humans and find joy and understanding in what we are capable of.

PHILOSOPHY

I live for the possibility of things yet to come. I wish to gain knowledge and understanding so I may thrive and enjoy every moment, and be strong enough to manage any adversity. I also wish to help others and share in moments of happiness, just to make the world a little brighter. We are capable of profound goodness, and I hope to open my eyes, and the eyes of others to the potential in every person's mind and heart.

I have never couch surfed but I have hosted a few people!

Interests

I've studied music for most of my life and play numerous instruments (some better than others). Mainly I sing and play guitar, but I will always find a way to turn a piece of junk into some type of instrument. I am currently working on getting a job in a recording studio and also producing my first album (in due time). I love backpacking/hiking, photography, exploring new foods and learning how to create delectable dishes, wine and beer tasting (in general making/tasting alcohol), taking trips, and having adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Justin Vernon (Bon Iver, Volcano Choir, Gayngs, etc.) is by far my favorite musician, but other favorite artists also include Explosions in the Sky, Stevie Wonder, Etta James, Iron & Wine, Local Natives, Iambic2, Andrew Bird, and a TON of hardcore music.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always bring duct tape! It will save your butt. Also, don't be afraid to try new things and throw yourself into new situations. Life is a matter of perspective, and you will always learn something about yourself and others if you keep your mind open and ready.
