About Me

I am a journalism & political science student and backpacker living in Finland.

I love writing, reading (books, books and books, yeah, I'm a bit of a nerd), yoga and riding horses. My dream is to learn surfing and dancing salsa some day, by now I know only a little bit of both. Also I am a vegetarian loving Greek, Mexican and Italian cuisines. Oh, and wine. I love wine.

I've been traveling in all the continents, mostly on my own, lived in Finland, Tanzania, Mexico and Turkey and I just love Africa and Latin America and their cultures. Next I would love to travel to Ethiopia and I don't even know exactly why. Traveling spontaneously is my thing and I hate doing too strict plans - they will change anyway. Hiking in the nature and hitchhiking is also something I just love. Adventurous way of living keeps the boredom away.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting inspiring people from all over the world, hear their stories and possibly learn from them. And of course with the locals you'll always find the best spots in town! Some day I hope to have an apartment in which I could host people too.

Interests

Travelling, adventures, the world, books, media, development cooperation, human rights and equality. Big big love for Istanbul, Africa, Latin America! Lately I've got more and more interested in Middle East as well. Iran is an amazing country!

Music, Movies, and Books

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - the endless source of inspiration.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I happened to be in South-Africa in December 2013 and had a chance to participate the memorial of Nelson Mandela with tens of thousands of people.

I also had a gap year after my high school and travelled around the world alone in seven months in 2012-2013 which in total was awesome. I also won myself doing the four day long Inka trek to Machu Picchu in Peru. The thoughest but probably the greatest days of my life!

The sunrises in the Temples of Angkor, Cambodia and Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia.

Also I will never forget my travels to Rwanda, Cuba and Iran, such interesting countries with incredible past.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would say I know quite a lot about different cultures and countries due to my travels and I always love to talk about the world we're living in.
I know some travel writing and photography.
