About Me
Hey, I'm Laura I'm 28 years old.
I live in brussels and now I'm travelling for 5 months. I'm actually in Korea and Japan with my sister who has a passion for the culture of those countries. Afterward I'm planning to go to the south of the US. I've dreamt about the New Orleans Carnaval my whole life, now's the moment :))
About me : After studying french language and literature, I've begun a PhD in Rhetorics. I'm actually on a break after three years of research. On the side, I really enjoy dancing House dance. I'm learning currently but I really enjoy it. I'm also a good reader and I do enjoy a good movie (or sometimes even a bad one 0:) )
Why couchsurfing ? I've couchsurfed sometimes and it has always been a great experience. If not with couchsurfing, I've always enjoyed meeting new people - in Brussels and elsewhere. I think there's no better way to understand a country (or at least try to understand) than meeting the people that live in it. I love to chat and most importantly to laugh. That's why I'm joking a lot and always laughing to people's jokes :))
I know that hosting someone is something really generous and sometimes exhausting (I love to host people in Brussels so i know the feeling) so I can easily adapt to your energy and be as small as possible if needed. But on the opposite I'd love to share a meal and a discussion with you if you have the time and/or energy ! I'm really cautious about respecting your space, your beliefs and your culture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm travelling a lot but sadly it's rare to meet resident people. I hope that on couch surfing I will find people to meet and enjoy spending times with them. I hope that I'll get to discover new things (food, movie, etc.) thanks to those neww meet.
Interests
As already said, right now I'm really into dancing. After years if classical dance,, hip hop dancing I'm now into House dance. It's m'y luck because Korea, Japan and USA are the biggest countries for House culture :))! If it's something you're into, I'd love to hear your recommandations for places to watch/learn/dance.
Otherwise I'm really into Books, movies and music. I'd love to go to a cinema un Korea or Japan !
Finally, as is everyone, I'm into food. Especially japanese food, and Always curious to eat something new.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a great rap listener ! If you're into rap I can tell you my favorite french speaking rapper hehe :)
Last book I've read : Tar Baby from Toni Morrison (love her).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most extraordinary thing I've done is leaving my home for one year to do a gap year at 18. I feel really lucky to have had the possibility to do that!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I feel like i've already said a lot but mostly I think couchsurfing is about exchange. Cultural exchange, discussions, meals, interests etc., all ouf those with respect for each other and for our cultural differencies. I see it as a way to learn new things and hopefully meet new friends :)
