To get to know myself at the point where I can adapt to every moment.

ABOUT ME

I try to enjoy the small things in life, for example being surprised or surprising other people without big intentions. That's also the reason why (at the moment) I live day to day and don't try to plan too much. I'm trying to live with my two feet on the ground (though that is difficult) and experience the world around me. I think a lot about life and about how people treat each other.

My friends and family say I'm a caring person. I think my life mission is to take care of other people but also to be taken care of. I believe that we can make the world a better place if we help each other out from time to time.

PHILOSOPHY

I love how people can be fascinated and passionated about things they do in their lifes. You can learn so much from other people by just listening to their story and by sharing your story with them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the concept of meeting new people by offering your couch to others. It's a small and easy thing to do. That's the kind of traveling I like, definitely because it's a very hospitable way of welcoming someone.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had some couchsurfers on my couch and I did some couchsurfing myself in many different countries. I also met a lot of couchsurfers that stayed at my friend's place. I never had any bad experiences and I think this way of travelling should keep on existing.

Interests

I like reading, watching movies, going for a walk, swimming, nature, meeting friends, acting... Little things can make me very happy.

There is a poem of the Flemish poet Paul Snoek which describes exactly how swimming feels for me (Thanks to Gert-Jan to mention this poem), feel free to translate:

Een zwemmer is een ruiter

Zwemmen is losbandig slapen in spartelend water,
is liefhebben met elke nog bruikbare porie,
is eindeloos vrij zijn en inwendig zegevieren.

En zwemmen is de eenzaamheid betasten met vingers,
